phenomeen
« pHenomeen » is a contraction of « phénomène » in French and « fenomeen » in Dutch. The first two letters evoke pH, an acronym for hydrogen potential measuring the acidity or basicity of a liquid. This name warns of the acidification of the oceans which alters the shells and skeletons of marine species, favoring the proliferation of toxic algae and jellyfish, resilient in the face of increasing levels of marine carbon dioxide

In Malaysia, forest fires have destroyed local jungles, shrinking wildlife habitat every day. These flashpoints are caused by local farmers who replace the jungle with palm oil nurseries.
I have tried to symbolize this indifference towards nature in an ethereal form. Resigned, challenging man with his gaze, the fauna waits to go up in smoke.
delatevery
I chose the symbol of paddle, this water sport, to denounce rising water levels and their pollution.
Paddle is not the fastest mode of transportation; then we would see this new generation of delivery drivers emerge, no longer on mopeds but on paddleboards. Delivering their orders late or bringig their cold dishes to customers.
plantstic
The plastic waste is everywhere in our body, the oceans, the clouds, the surfaces.
Starting from where I wondered what the vegetation would looks like in the future. What would you see if you cut a tree into slices ? One would discover that the piled plastic has become organic over the centuries, mixing with the tree symbiosis, becoming one with the plant. A pecular and poetic version of this drama
pHucked
Ocean acidification is one of the emerging problems of the planetary environment.
The tolerance of the jellyfish to the CO2 in the seawater is causing their numbers of expand rapidly. This affect many oceanic species such as the urticant jellyfish and the toxic algae resist the increase in CO2 levels, which must therefore be reduced.
To draw attention to this invisible catastrophe, I do so through the symbol of the jellyfish, a harmful invader that takes up so much space that it attaches itself to other species.
melting souvenirs
This serie is a metaphor about the memories we still have when all species that are in danger of extinction have disappeared. Starting from a speech bubble like in the cartoons. I wrote some of the animals involved in it.
Old nostalgic memories and haziness that in turn are melting under the influence of global warning.
eco ego
eco ego is an organic shape mirror, made of recycled or second hand mirrors. The frame is made of recycled plastic from bottles or plastic bags.
Plastic is now a ressource. It’s a fact. You just have to look around you. It’s litteraly everywhere. Even in your body.
Plastic is ressource just like the gaz, the oil, the charcoal… Polluting the Earth a little more each day.
Those mirrors defend those 3 ideas: quit producing, start cleaning, start recycling
Our oceans and lands need it.
